Microcement Bathroom

Bathrooms, toilets, and wet rooms present the perfect setting to demonstrate the seamless simplicity of microcement.
Whether you are aiming for a chic and urban aura or an innovative and modern design, the versatility of microcement helps you bring stunning and original bathroom ideas to life.
Thanks to its waterproof properties, microcement can be applied continuously across various surfaces without joins or grout lines. Not only does this make cleaning super easy and hygienic, but bathing becomes a stimulating experience that leaves you feeling relaxed, rejuvenated, and pampered.
It doesn’t come as a surprise that an increasing number of clients are using microcement in bathrooms, toilets, and wet rooms to enhance the look and feel of their space.
Wet rooms don’t even need any special preparation like tanking them. Just plasterboard down to the floor and give them a skim, make sure your surfaces are firm and free of movement and we’ll take care of the rest.
Does Microscreed Bathroom Stain or Absorb Odours?
With the right product, NO! The microcement we use on bathroom walls and floors is specially formulated for use in wet rooms. The formula is completely waterproof which prevents watermarks and absorption of odour even before the microcement is sealed. When the microcement on your bathroom walls and the floor have fully cured it becomes impervious to water, like glass or ceramic. You can leave wet bottles or bathroom slippers on the surface and water or odour won’t affect the product.
Can You Microcement Over Bathroom Tiles and Shower Trays?
Yes, we can! Removing tiles is messy and a pain in the rear even for professionals. With microcement, we can skip the hassle and mess of taking the tile out and simply apply it directly onto the tiles. But, we’ll have to evaluate that the tiles are properly glued to the floor and there is no chance of them becoming loose thereby destroying the microscreed bathroom.
We can also apply microcement over shower trays. However, this application works best if you buy and install a shower tray that’s suitable for vinyl floors. The shower tray must be firmly cemented in place then plasterboard and plaster down to the tray. This way we can skip the need for silicone or any other joins and install the microcement from the bathroom wall to the tray.

Can You Combine Microcement with Tiles?
Combining microcement with tiles is one of the best ways to give your bathroom an exquisite look. We simply need to work closely with your main contractor to ensure the levels are right before tiling and the subfloor is adequately prepped. Then you can seamlessly combine microcement and tiles to your taste.
What Is the Best Cleaning Solution for Microcement Bathroom Floor and Walls?
Neutral soap is the best cleaning solution to use on the walls and floor of a microscreed bathroom. Avoid alkaline cleaning products such as ammonia, chlorine, bleach, detergents, and soaps with descaling properties at all costs. That’s because they can force the microcement to deteriorate prematurely.
